Why doesn’t Solais have LM-79 certification? Well, that has a simple answer, there is no such thing. LM-79 is a testing process not a certification. 

LEDs are a new technology, which relies more on thermal management than any other previous source. Since thermal management can vary significantly depending on the environment that the LED is placed in, it has become necessary to test LEDs within their operating situation and, in the case of replacement lamps, test the entire replacement lamp. The Illuminating Engineer Society of North America (IESNA) came up with a method of testing LEDs called LM-79-08: IES Approved Method for the Electrical and Photometric Measurements of Solid-State Lighting Products. LM-79 prescribes uniform testing methods under controlled conditions for measuring photometric and colorimetric performance, as well as the electrical power of LED luminaires.
