James Leahy, President of Solais Lighting, the leading manufacturer of the lighting industry's highest-performing LED lamps and fixtures, was quoted in the March issue of tED Magazine in the article "Leading trends in LED".
tED Magazine is a monthly magazine which is read by the top distribution companies in the electrical industry. The publication is known for addressing many "tough issues within the channel."
The article, written by Susan Bloom, a 20-year veteran of the lighting industry, outlines the thoughts and advice of "six experts — representing LED manufacturers, lighting consultants, and electrical distributors" on 13 of the most popular trends in the current LED market. Solais president James Leahy was quoted four times within the article, and gave opinions on the trend topics of pricing and industry movement. He also provided tips on how to view LEDs for their full potential impact and the best way to compare LED products as they become more mainstream.
Per the topic of assessing performance and aesthetic appeal, Leahy said "Nothing beats a trial installation to see the true impact of an LED lighting upgrade… We also like to encourage customers to visit our existing installations across the country to see how our LED products actually perform in real-life application rather than relying on only specifications or a ‘wall test.' Experiencing a products performance in an actual setting demonstrates how the area is illuminated, how the colors are being rendered, and how the overall space is enhanced by a quality LED upgrade."
