Solais Lighting - a different type of LED company!

Welcome to Solais Lighting! We are an LED lamp manufacturing company that is revolutionizing the industry. I know, you have heard this before and are probably thinking we are just another group of people looking to make a quick buck on the latest craze in lighting, but you are wrong. Our team consists of experienced researchers, designers, engineers, architects, scientists, and developers who are sick of hearing about and watching as consumers are being taken advantage of by garbage manufacturers making low-quality LED products. As a result, we have spent over two years developing the technology behind our LED lamps to ensure our customers finally get the quality products they deserve.

LED technology is a tremendous breakthrough that is taking the lighting industry by storm. Lighting is the largest consumer of electric energy in U.S. retail establishments and office buildings and accounts for nearly 20% of the world's total electric consumption. However, conventional lighting technologies have already peaked and they do not offer the efficiency characteristics necessary to meet the growing energy needs of the planet. When the clean, energy-efficient LED technology realizes its full technological and market potential:

- Worldwide electricity consumption due to lighting will be decreased by more than 50 percent and total consumption of electricity will be decreased by more than 10 percent.
- Carbon emissions and new capital infrastructure associated with electric power generation will decrease proportionately.
- Hazardous waste that exists in today's conventional light sources, such as the mercury in fluorescent and HID lamps, will be eliminated.

Currently, the major concern with LED lighting is thermal management. This is the reason for the bulky, heavy metal heat sinks that characterize virtually all LED lamps on the market. The problem is that these heat sinks, especially in recessed lighting and other types of enclosures, are insufficient and do not allow the appropriate light levels to be produced because the supplied power needs to be reduced to lower the heat gain. How can an LED replacement lamp be successful if it is incapable of providing the necessary light output and performance to replace, or even match, the current incandescent lamps?

This is where Solais differs! Solais Lighting, Inc. is the first LED lamp manufacturing company to solve the performance restrictions caused by LED's high thermal management demands. As a result, the Solais family of lighting products is the only solution capable of providing the quality performance and flexibility necessary in commercial, museum, retail, hospitality, high-end residential, and other high-output applications. Our lamps truly are the world's premier LED lamps with the light-output, focused-beam and full-dimming features required to replace high-efficiency halogen reflector lamps.

The core of our success is our patent-pending LuxianceŽ Technology, which is the industry leading thermal management system that incorporates active cooling for superior light output and performance. Yes, I did say active cooling but take a breath before you freak out. So many people, even experienced lighting people, get worked up over the concept of active cooling in an LED lamp, but let's take a look at the facts.
LED lamps are electronic devices. They can't help it because their technology came from the electronics industry, not the lighting industry. Every major electronic device (computers, televisions, stereos, processors, etc.) utilizes active cooling systems, not because it's easy or trendy, but because it is the only viable solution to maintain performance. Well guess what folks, the same goes for LED lighting. Think about it, would you buy a laptop that had a large metal base that added 5X the weight and made the computer 20% slower? So why would you do the same with lighting? Instead, you should be contacting other lighting manufacturers and asking why they aren't using active cooling.
At Solais Lighting, we believe LEDs are the solution to many environmental, economic, and technological concerns about lighting. The rapid progress, already exceeding expectations, in LED technology is proving their success and establishing their place in the lighting industry. We want you all to get as excited over LEDs and the future of lighting as we are, so our goal is to provide you with the information necessary to do so.
Not only are we starting this blog to keep you informed on the latest industry and Solais updates, but we are publishing industry whitepapers detailing many important topics surrounding LEDs and LED lighting.
We welcome all questions and comments as we truly hope to spread the awareness of the great potential behind LEDs, so feel free to contact us at any time.
There are many exciting things to come, so keep checking back!
