What's new for LED lighting in 2020?

5 things the lighting industry will focus on in 2020

Better quality of light

While LEDs are efficient, some manufacturers still struggle in some areas like flickering, not Solais though! This is one topic that you will see more manufacturers focusing on in 2020.

Color Rendering

A high R9 value means a much better color rendering result for most applications. There will be more R9 labeling along with CRI moving forward. We will also begin to see more and more TM-30 color analysis being requested. Fixture color rendering ability is important to users!

Dark Sky Compliance

As the years go on, we become more aware of light pollution in the environment. Dark sky compliance is sought out more and more by people looking to upgrade their exterior lighting to LED. (ahem... see how EnergyLite product families do!)

Fixture Design

Retro and sleek designs with custom finishes and a more modern look is the style we are expecting to see moving forward.

Smart Lighting

This is a buzz word in the LED lighting industry we hear a lot these days. Being able to obtain data and control your fixtures with ease and simplicity is pretty cool.

LEDs continue to develop providing a better option for light produced, as well as energy efficiency and eco-friendly benefits. We plan to expand on each of these topics with our future blogs, so keep a lookout for our next post and follow us on social media!
