Replace 90-watt PAR38 halogen lamps in a universal track fixture with an LED solution that lowers energy consumption, reduces maintenance costs, reduces fixture quality and increases average light levels, while minimizing the "presence" of the lighting on the ceiling.
The Solais Xi24 fixture, delivering 1600 lumens at only 24 watts with 40-degree optics - this Solais solution is the only lamp capable of upgrading this application, while reducing the fixture count 20%, resulting in a "cleaner" ceiling.
The Solais LED solution saved more than 78% of energy costs by reducing not only the lamp wattage but the number of fixtures from 689 to 545, while keeping the average foot-candles at 41. Additionally, the added snoot accessory reduced the viewing angle of the actual source, helping to create the store's desired effect of having the lighting "disappear" into the ceiling.
BEFORE SOLAIS SOLUTION
The existing lighting consisted of 689 PAR38 halogen 25-degree lamps with 1310 lumens. This approach was chosen by the grocery store managers because of the store's high ceilings and to achieve the desired average foot-candles of 41 on the floor.
AFTER SOLAIS SOLUTION
The grocery store needed only 545 Solais 40-degree, 1600 lumen Xi24 fixtures with snoots to "hide" the light source and reduce glare, while maintaining light levels. This is clearly shown in the "before" and "after" renderings.
