Replace 60-watt PAR38 halogen lamps in track fixtures with an LED solution that lowers energy consumption, reduces quantity, reduces maintenance costs, and minimizes the "presence" of the lighting, while maintaining the average light levels.
The Solais LR30LN lamp with cross baffle, delivering 1450 lumens at only 21 watts - this actively cooled PAR30 long neck LED lamp replacement is the only lamp of its kind capable of upgrading this application, while using only about half the number of total fixtures.
The Solais LED solution saved more than 80% of energy costs by reducing not only the lamp wattage but the number of track fixtures from 117 to 64, while slightly increasing the average foot-candles from 31 to 35. Additionally, the added cross-baffle accessory reduced the viewing angle of the actual light source, helping to create the salon's desired effect of having the lighting "disappear" into the ceiling.
BEFORE SOLAIS SOLUTION
The existing lighting consisted of 117 PAR38 25-degree halogen lamps with 800 lumens. This approach was chosen by the salon to have a low-wattage, low-brightness PAR38 with the center-beam candlepower (CBCP) needed to get both the "punch" and the average illuminance of 31 foot-candles.
AFTER SOLAIS SOLUTION
The salon needed only 64 of the Solais 40-degree, 1450-lumen LR30LN lamps with cross baffles to "hide" the light source and reduce glare, while obtaining higher light levels. This is clearly shown above as brighter colors in the Solais solution.
“We’re very pleased with the Solais product and can’t believe how different it looks against our previous lighting, especially the color rendition. It really performs ahead of our expectations."
